Biotechnology is the gateway to open career opportunity in numerous fields such as medical, pharmaceuticals, food, agriculture, forensics, climate change and environment, bioenergy, bioprocessing, waste to wealth through proper learning process on various biotechnologies including understanding on basic principles of microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, plant and animal sciences, fermentation technology, metabolic engineering, bioprocess engineering and biochemical engineering to advanced learning on genetic engineering, gene editing, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, bioinformatics and computational biology, industrial bioprocessing, upstream and downstream processing, genetic engineering to exploit the plant, microbial, animal cells or system for producing useful bioproducts that can improve the health and value of the human and environment. The scientific skills attained by a student’s open the wide range of opportunities in the field of biotechnology research and bioengineering both. Development in the biotechnology has become a need of time for the human being and the planet is concerned because now earth is facing various challenges related to climate change, pollution, global warming as well as emerging to contagious diseases.
The Biotechnology Department in the AKS University is offering various academic programs including B.Sc. B.Sc. (Honors), B. Tech, B. Tech by Research, M.Sc., M. Tech, and Ph.D, and various scientific and industrial skill development and entrepreneurships courses as per the NEP-2020 to the students for inspiring them to innovate in biotechnology field as well as make them a responsible citizen who can create, collaborate and committed to uplift the society with their extraordinary scientific skills. Department has committed for overall transformation of students by training on multi-dimensional scientific skills related to research and development, and industrial aspects so that they may pursue demanding higher education that may lead to provide career security to become a successful researcher, academician, or entrepreneur. For this purpose, department has dedicated, highly qualified faculty members those always proactively take efforts to inculcate research attitude, skills and curiosity in students. Apart from the academic activities, students are also encouraged to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and are also made aware about their social responsibilities. Taken together, we aim to groom students with ethics, knowledge, skills, enthusiasm and willpower, so that they should stand with competence in the race at any frontiers in their career and personal as well as social life.
